This week has seen passes come for Kelli, who I have been teaching regularly over the past 6 months and Bristol teacher Megan who had an assessment lesson during May half term and returned for a semi intensive over the school summer holidays. Congratulations to both girls.
Catrin and Mike both come home with the goods and now are full license holders.
Eleri has been instructing Buckle Up Intensive candidates for a couple of years now and on Thursday 17th August scored a pass with Sophie who travelled to Llandrindod for a 12 hour course. To end off March we've had successes for Michael, Emily, Dan B and Adam. That brings us up to 16 passes from 18 tests in 2017.

2017 has so far yielded passes for Starr and Darren who travelled to Llandrindod for 3 day intensive courses, and locals Marcus, Kyle, Craig, Ryan and Harry.
Special congratulations to Ryan and Darren who achieved zero fault tests.
More tests still to come and plenty of tests available for intensive courses too.
In 2016 Buckle Up scored a massive 68 passes, 8 of which had zero driving faults and an impressive 79% pass rate.
Much of this success has been due to 90 minute lessons progressing learners through more quickly as well as a fine balance of intensive courses together with weekly lesson learners.
I'm quite amazed at how well we have done and would like to thank all those who have helped to achieve such a great result.
Since October 24th Buckle Up has had passes from: Rhian, Lloyd, Meredyth on an Intensive 5 day course, Edmund, Amy on a 3 day intensive course, Joseph, Jody on a 3 day intensive course, Fiona on a 5 day intensive course, Bryony and John. That gives us 10 in a row! What a way to end the year! We're now at 67 passes for 2016. Phew!
Micheal travelled down from Liverpool for a 3 day 12 hour intensive driving course after 2 previously unsuccessful attempts back at home. After refining a few control issues and making sure he knew when to, and why to use his mirrors he sailed through the test with zero faults. He is now the 7th person to do this with Buckle Up in 2016.
Jade travelled to Llandrindod from Somerset to take a 20 hour intensive driving course with myself Matt, and Sam travelled from Scotland for a 15 hour driving course with our new accomplice instructor Penny. Sam left us this review on our facebook page:My husband is in the army so my driving lessons were always inconsistent so I travelled to Llandrindod from Scotland to do a 15 hour intensive course with Penny. Matt also arranged my accommodation which was helpful so I could concentrate purely on the driving. Penny was absolutely fantastic, I was so low in confidence and she sorted that, I was sure I had failed before even taking the test but to my surprise I passed with 1 minor and that was only because I hesitated whilst doing a turn around the corner on the steepest hill! Lol. Not only did Penny teach me to drive test level standard she taught me absolutely everything, put me in so many real life situation to teach me how to deal with them, took me on routes that wasn't a test route so i had a better understanding of the roads. Honestly highly recommended and well worth the travel. Thanks Penny & Matt
To satisfy demand for intensive driving courses I have often used other instructors, but I always make sure that they are fully qualified and very experienced instructors with a solid knowledge of the area and how to get driving students to become successful, safe drivers. I always know the instructors I use, unlike certain other 'national' intensive driving schools who accept a booking and then try to find anyone to deliver the lessons.
The girls have put us on a hot streak, 16 girls passed in a row between May 5th and July 21st.Thank you to Jasmine, Becky, Lea, Georgia, Taylor, Sian, Verity, Elinor, Amy, Laura, Sara, Sheena, Cherie, Ffion, Non and Sian! They also make up a massive 24 passes from the last 26 tests.
Jake from Builth Wells brightens up an otherwise quiet month with a license winning display of driving. Congratulations to him. Finally after a drought of driving tests the DVSA have made many more available for May and June. Book now before we run out of space!
February sees passes for Jodie, Harry, 2 completely different chaps named Ben and Belgian Londoner Tom who travelled here for a 3 day intensive driving course.
January 2016 saw passes coming in for Robbie, brother and sister Tom and Anna, with Tom getting a zero fault test. Andy from Eastbourne on a 20 hour intensive driving course, another zero fault test, and finally Scott with yet another zero fault test!!!! How's that for quality!
Another month of success for Buckle Up learners. Locals from Llandrindod Wells and Builth Wells passing were: Matt, Sophie, Nicole, Shannon and my old school friend Simps proving you're never to old to learn.
Jay travelled up from London after a number of attempts in the ridiculously busy capital city and found it to be far more of a relaxing environment to drive in Llandrindod. He left pretty pleased with his pass certificate in the bag.
As well as Jay passing on 30th September Buckle up had successes with Kate, Sasha and Antonia too. 4 in one day, That's a record!
Vijay travelled to Llandrindod from London after having 2 previous attempts at the driving test. He took a short 12 hour intensive driving course where we took care of all the accommodation requirements over 3 days to refine his skills and practise on the roads he would be using on the test and went on to pass. Congratulations Vijay!
A quiet month for tests but we still got passes from Danielle, Brad, Jess, and Marina. 3 young drivers on the road and Marina proving that being more mature can never stop you achieving what you want to achieve. Well done all 4 of you.
Caoimhe had previously had 3 unsuccessful attempts mostly caused by nerves. So her instructor Angella took all the pressure off her on test day by letting her believe that she was already going to fail and she told her family that she had failed too. With the weight of expectation off her shoulders she relaxed, drove with the skill and ability she had and passed. She took a 3 day intensive 12 hour course with our Intensive specialist Angella Allan.
Kelly passes first time to beat her younger brother Ben whos story happened many pages ago. But it doesn't really matter, 1st time, 2nd, 3rd or whenever, its getting you FREE, FREE, FREE to get out on the road whenever you want to.
Jake passes with zero, none, zip, nada, absolutely no faults whatsoeverooney!!!!! Well done Jake!
Kim a born and raised Californian now living in North Wales had to pass the UK test after many, many years of driving in many, many countries. Unfortunately getting through the test proved very difficult on 4 occasions. Until she came to Buckle Up in Llandrindod wells for a 12 hour course, passed the test and now she is FREE to drive anywhere in Europe!!!! Congratulations Kim!
6th March Dan passed after travelling down from Lancashire for a 3 day course with Angella. On 8th March Dan passed after a 3 day intensive top up course with Matt. He travelled here from Gloucester. The same day Jason passed from London after taking a 5 day intensive course with Angella.Today 19th March Robin passed after a 3 day top up course with Matt, he had previously been unsuccessful in Guildford on his parallel park and surprise surprise got the same manoeuvre again. Luckily we had worked hard to perfect it and he nailed it!
Since last posting we've had success for Nik the Russian, Dan, Adan, George from Bristol on an Intensive course and keeping it real for the girls, Katie. Well done all! 2014 saw Buckle Up achieve over 60 test passes, we grew a little with an additional 2 instructors to offer to intensive learners and we continue to be the most recommended driving school around.
Been so busy recently its hard to get round to updating the website! You can always check out buckle up driving school page on facebook for regular updates too.Since last time we have earned licences for: Ieuan, Amelia, Tom, Krishna, Nerys and Joanne. This brings our 2014 total up to 55! only 1 more to match last years stonking 56 passes! Will it be you in 2015?????
Been a while since updating the successes, so many of them its too hard to keep up!Jordan, Autumn, Katie, Becky, Charlie complete the list of locals passing since the last update, and:Sam, Emma and Emilia all travelled here from farther afield for Intensive driving courses. All passed!!! Which brings Buckle Up to a tidy 16 in a row!!!! (but now ive gone and cursed it!)
Danyel travelled to Llandrindod for a 20 hour intensive driving course. He was shown the ropes by Angela our newest instructor and achieved the pass he came for with flying colours. Buckle Up now has 3 top class, locally based driving instructors, all with fantastic success rates and the choice of 2 driving test centres to help you achieve your goal to be a good driver and pass the test. To book, call or email us today and take the next step like so many have before.
Caroline came to Llandrindod from London early this year to do a 20 hour intensive driving course. She chose not to book the test as she wanted to focus on regaining lost confidence without the pressure of an impending test. By the end of the week she was more than comfortable behind the wheel and we even carried out a mock test to show her how far she had come. She left with the aim of passing the theory test and returning to take the test in Llandrindod Wells. This she completed today after a few extra hours of tuition to brush up on her skills. She returns to London as a full license holder. It was a pleasure to meet you and help you on your journey Caroline. Best of luck for the future.
Steve learnt to drive with his father, he came to Buckle Up to brush up on safe practises of driving, manoeuvres and to pass the test. He achieved this with ease!
Sean, Caroline, Chris and Artie help Buckle Up get 4 passes in 1 week. That's a great result! Artie follows his brother George with a first time pass which puts them up with Rhian and Ffion, Danielle and Sian, Tom and Katie, and Ricky and Lauren as siblings who all passed first time with Buckle Up. Another great record!
Justine travelled to Llandrindod from London to take a 20hour 5 day intensive driving course and return as a full license holder. Another advantage of learning to drive in Llandrindod wells is that youll never EVER spend a lesson stuck in traffic.
Buckle Ups newest addition, Colin, helped Verity get the test pass she so badly deserved after a 20 hour intensive course. GO TEAM BUCKLE UP!!!!
Double success for Buckle Up when locals Cari and George both passed 1st time. Cari passed in her own car too. Buckle Up trained her and helped her with her own private practise which helped her to pass and save money too.
Sadie could drive already after growing up on a farm, I'm not going to lie and claim all the credit, but Buckle Up got her test ready and proficient with the test manoeuvres with better observations and awareness of the rules of the road to get her through the test a safer driver.
Jack started lessons last Summer but after many years of driving on the farm his skills were already very good. Buckle Up will not make anybody have more tuition than they need to be a safe driver so he was told to pass his theory test and return so we could get him through the test. He took a while to get through the theory test and didn't call back til this May but when he did he came through the test with ease. We get people through in a time period that they are happy with, and we never take longer than is necessary.
Local Llandod girl Sian passed on her 1st attempt to follow in her sisters footsteps, Danielle who passed 2 weeks earlier.Francesca came to llandrindod wells for a 12 hour residential driving course after having ad a couple of unsuccessful attempts before. Her driving skills were good but confidence was low. She held her nerve and sailed through with ease. Congratulations to both!
2 contrasting passes from 2 determined young ladies. Lucy took things nice and slow over 9 months to develop her skills and win her freedom of the road.Lauren passed her theory test on her 17th birthday, got as much driving in as possible with Buckle Up and her parents and boyfriend and passed after 16 days. Big congratulations to both for their achievements. With Buckle Up you learn at a pace that suits you, but you always reach your goal.
Dropping Warren off at his house after hes passed his test and he can climb straight into a Porsche to drive. I'm not a bit jealous, really....
Both Ben and Meghan earn their licenses, Ben coming through the methodical lesson a week way, Meghan after a 12 hour top up course to refine her skills and make the big push to the end. Best of luck to both!
Rhys arranged to take a 20 hour intensive course whilst on Army leave, and he returns to the Army as a license holder. He says his next vehicle could be armoured! Good luck there Rhys. Buckle Up is increasing capacity for Intensive courses with an additional instructor due to our great success record. Things are on the UP!!!
Josh passes after a 20 hour intensive course. It was a challenge to rid him of his off road, farm driver habits but where there's a will there's a way.Nichaela also passed on her 1st attempt the same day. Nichaela created a 1st for Buckle Up as during some lessons we were accompanied by her 2 and 1 year olds in the car. This sort of distraction makes learning even more realistic as its exactly what she'll be going through from now on.
Ashley passes 1st time with no problem at all. A farm lad he'd been driving since 8 so it was easy to get him through the test. We included a trip to Newport, Gwent to give him extra experience with busy roads, dual carriageways and roundabouts too. Buckle Up helps you learn at your own pace, be it quickly like Ash or taking more time and patience like Caroline to develop slowly and build confidence. YOU control your own development.
Both Phillippe and Doug achieved passed today on their 1st attempts. I sat in on both tests to gain a better understanding of what tests are like, and what examiners really look for to help with future driving students.
Bernard travelled to Llandrindod Wells for an intensive driving course from Dolgellau. His driving standard was very good but his test nerves were immense. Fortunately building confidence is something that Buckle Up prides itself on and he held his nerve to pass the test. Big congrats to you Bernard, you deserved it.
After an intensive driving course over 5 days, Bianca passes 1st time. Her previous experience driving on farmland gave her good control and with Buckle Up's structured learning Programme she adapted her skills to the road and achieved her goal. Emily came to Buckle Up after having tried on 2 previous occasions to pass with another driving school. She had all the skills but needed a few pointers with manouvres and some self belief. She got this and aced the test no problem.
Poppy passed after using a 12hour course to complete her learning experience. She found that by going intensively, the skills she learned stuck with her and helped her develop more quickly. She follows in the footsteps of her younger sister molly who passed last year.
Jake passes with flying colours to get his license.I sat in on his test and was reminded of what a tough experience it ison the driving test. Good job we had practiced hard and covered all bases so that he felt at ease with driving under the pressure of examination.Buckle Up builds confidence as well as driving skills, that's why Buckle Up driving students are more likely to pass.
Llandrindod wells resident Carl came through in the end to pass his driving test. He's now free to drive his family wherever he pleases.
Charlotte followed in the footsteps of her sister Natasha and travelled to llandrindod wells from knighton for an intensive driving course. She found it more beneficial to travel in daily for a week on the train rather than pay an instructor to do the same trip. This gave her more time learning with an instructor and less time commuting. The result has paid off!
Llandrindod Wells local lad, Ryan passed on his 1st attempt. His grand bought him a voucher for 10 lessons and he worked hard to make them count. Well done Ryan! Learners who pass this easily will put me out of work! But Buckle up never holds anybody back and will only give you as many lessons as you need to be a safe driver. We pride ourselves on efficiency and making good every lesson count.
Hina had a number of unsuccessful attempts in Watford before discovering Buckle Up in Llandrindod Wells. It wasn't that she couldn't drive but she had been overloaded with being told to check her mirrors so often a carry out crazy 6 point checks to move away that it took her mind off driving. With my help to relax and focus on what's important and the lighter traffic conditions in Llandrindod, Hina could concentrate on her own driving skills and pass. This could be your story! Call now to book.
Sam hay passed still time at the tender age of 17 and 3 weeks. A determined young lad who came to Buckle Up with 1 aim, pass as quickly as possible. That he did!In contrast Caroline who overcame severe nerves and anxiety and took her time over 2 years to raise her confidence and pass 1still time. She still can't believe it! Well done to both. If you want to be a success story too, call NOW!07811034949
The year ended with 56 tests passed and a pass rate of 71%. We have a fancy new Ford Fiesta car and still bundles of energy and excitement to get more drivers through the test and out on the road. This could be YOU!
After a number of unsuccessful attempts in London, mazen chooses to come to Llandrindod Wells for a residential intensive driving course with Buckle Up Driving School and pass his test. He not only returns to London as a licensed driver but as the 1 in 400 000 test passers with a clean sheet! Not a single driving fault! A massive turnaround from his previous attempts. Well done.
Toby had 4 unsuccessful attempts at passing the driving test in Wrexham and Chester in part due to issues of confidence and learning difficulties. He came to Llandrindod Wells for a 12 hour, 3 day intensive driving course with Buckle Up Driving School, where I worked on building his confidence in the great control he had as a driver, and helping him feel at ease with test conditions and the test roads in Llandrindod Wells. He passed the test and now can return to his farm as a licensed driver.
Steven started learning to drive in Llandrindod Wells with another local instructor 4 years ago, but stopped to go to university. After graduating Steven finally got round to finishing what he had started choosing Buckle Up this time as he had heard of its reputation for progressing learners to the test quickly. He used theory test pro to pass the theory side and passed the driving test with only 4 faults. Well done Steve, now ill have to perform at your open mic session like I promised I would if you passed.
Nic sails through her test 1st time to help Buckle Up get to 10 passes in a row for the 2nd time this year. Thanks Nic and all my other recent passes, it's a joy to teach and help you reach your goal. Best of luck with your wedding, hope to see you again for pass plus.
Matt passed on his first attempt in Llandrindod Wells with Buckle Up.
Louise of Builth Wells wanted to pass asap. Unable to do a full intensive course due to childcare, we did a semi intensive course of 2 2 hour sessions per week. She passed with flying colours today after less than 3 months since her first ever drive well within her target of Christmas. In her joy she even planted a big smackeroo on the examiner!
Leeanne passed with only 1 minor fault. After taking 40+ lessons over a year with another instructor and feeling like she hadn't got anywhere Leeanne changed to Buckle Up Driving School and achieved her goal in just 2 months.
Crossgates local and Llandrindod Wells High School student, Katie followed in her brothers footsteps and passed 1st time with Buckle Up Driving School.
Tojo travelled all the way from Bagshot, near Aldershot to take a 12 hour, 3 day intensive driving course and pass the driving test. In his words "llandrindod is the right place, Matt is the right instructor, it was the right duration, the right price, a great hotel and the right result."
Huw passes with flying colours 1st time. Huw started learning about 4 years ago but took a few breaks. He returned to buckle up this year finally with the one goal of getting his license. After passing the theory test with a little help from theory test pro the driving was a pushover. Now he's aiming for his HGV license. But no, it won't be with me!
Mishka had a few less than successful attempts at the driving test earlier this year, but after a bit of time to reflect, practise and carry out a few deep breathing exercises she passed the test. Well done mishka!
Jack visits llandrindod wells from shrewsbury to do an intensive course and pass 1st time. And hour later Curtis, from Llandrindod passes 1st time too. Curtis needed to pass quickly as he couldn't travel to complete his apprenticeship without his license. We crammed in as many lessons as possible over the last 3 weeks to get him test ready in time.
On Friday 26th July Olwen comes back stronger to pass on her 2nd attempt. She did a 20 hour Intensive in easter to start her driver training and was very good by the end. She went away, passed her theory test then took her test. Unfortunately she got a bit rusty and was unsuccessful 1st time but after a few extra hourswith BuckleUp and some practice with mum and dad she had no problems 2nd time round. Ambribht travels to llandrindod from London to pass on his 4th attempt. Having held a license in India for 15+ years he could drive, but couldn't pass the test. The lighter traffic in llandrindod took the pressure off and Ambribht could concentrate more on his control. He aced the test no problem.
Manoj had taken the test in Luton and had 3 unsuccessful attempts. He travelled to Llandrindod Wells, stayed at Greylands guesthouse and took a 12 hour intensive driving course. He passed the test just in time to return home and drive his son to school.
An intense course saw jo sail through the test with only 2 faults. Jo lived way out in the country near painscastle and also was at college 5 days per week and unavailable for evening lessons. She worked Sundays.meaning only Saturdays could.have.been possible. I dont find it productive to teach when there is only 1 day as an option, if either of us have to miss that day for one reason or another we lose valueable time and progress slows up. So intensive was the best option and as soon as jo finished college for summer we hit the road and she aced the test!
Josie passed with only 2 faults. Josie worked the intensive course backwards. She did an intense week during half term break to start her driving experience, got very good, very quickly and by the end of the week had the task of passing her theory ready.to book the test when she was off for summer. This suited her as she studies in london but stays in mid wales during holiday time.
Reuben passed his driving practical test with only 1 fault. A farmer from Knighton Reuben found it better to do an intense course in Llandrindod than to waste time travelling over here with an instructor for short lessons each week. Doing an intense course meant he got it all done quickly. And being a farmer he had.the skills already from driving quads, tractors and farm vehicles off road. The intense course gave him a brush up of skills and learnt on road driving rules.
Kelly passed on her first attempt, meaning that she can now transport her baby son, Max without braving the cold and wet of our ‘Glorious British Weather’ with a pushchair and all the paraphernalia that goes with babies.
Second time lucky for Amanda who suffered a bout of nerves on her first test. For the second attempt, Amanda took an intensive course with Buckle Up Driving School and flew through the test.
Gary passed after a 12 hour intensive course, finding adding car driving qualification to his lifetime of motorcycling. With Matthew’s instruction, he found the transition easy.
Gurpreef and Aisha both made the trip down from Birmingham to take their driving test with us after intensive residential courses. They both passed on the same day with only two minor faults each.Compared to Birmingham, the waiting time for a test here in Llandrindod Wells is very short, and the low traffic density and simple road systems allow test entrants to concentrate more on their driving thus giving a better chance of passing first time.
Gyles is one of our recent successful candidates, having taken one of our intensive driving courses, he passed the practical driving test in Llandrindod Wells at the first attempt. Chalk up another success for a Buckle Up Driving School candidate. If Gyles is a friend of yours, why not use the Facebook link to share a message of congratulations?
After taking one of our 20 intensive residential driving courses, Ben passed his driving test in Llandrindod Wells today. If you are a friend of Ben's perhaps you would like to pass on a message of congratulations via Facebook.
Keith passed his driving test in Llandrindod Wells after learning to drive with Buckle Up Driving School, passing with only 4 minor faults. If Keith is a friend of yours, why not use the Facebook link to send a message of congratulations?
Since Jasmine Passed on 5th May we have had 16 girls pass the driving test in a row! They make up 24 passes from the last 26 tests which has been a fantastic achievement and hopefully a run that will keep on running!
